2000 years of Cambridge history will show you striking architecture, museums and a varied cultural life. Treat yourself by dining out at an array of Michelin restaurants, have afternoon tea in the cafes, shop in unusual boutiques, visit the theatre or immerse yourself in contemporary art. Discover a uniquely rich heritage that generates ideas and shapes our future through education, research and emerging technology.
Visit the University, Cambridge’s most famous institution which is situated all around the city with buildings ranging from functional to the grand. The oldest, Peterhouse, was founded in 1284 but it is the Kings Parade and Trinity Street that characterize Cambridge.
To ensure seeing many of the most attractive features, one of the best ways to see Cambridge is on foot. Perhaps a guided walking tour for the day, or for those wanting to see the parts pedestrians can’t reach, try hopping on one of the open bus tours or take a relaxed glide in a chauffeured punt from Scudamores along the College Backs (situated next to the Doubletree by Hilton Cambridge Garden House).
Lose yourself in the botanical gardens, catch a glimpse of students cycling past in the most notorious city for bicycles or perhaps just head out of town to some of the many attractions nearby, Duxford Imperial War Museum, Wimpole Hall or Ely Cathedral.
Come along and spend some time visiting Cambridge. With it’s undisputed reputation as a multicultural vibrant city there is something for everyone.
